Ozempic. Wegovy. Mounjaro. Zepbound.

Everyone has an opinion. Almost nobody has answers.

You have heard it is cheating. You have heard it is a miracle. You have heard about the side effects, the cost, the muscle loss, and the people who gained it all back the minute they stopped.

What you have not heard is a straight answer from someone who is not selling you the drug.

So let me be clear about where I stand before you decide whether to come.

I lost 100 pounds the old fashioned way and I have kept it off for 20 years. Ozempic was not a thing back then. If it had been, I would have taken it in a heartbeat.

Sara Borgstede before and after 100 pound weight loss

This is not a lecture. There is no shame here and no judgment. I have women inside The Holy Weigh and as coaching clients on these medications right now, and they are some of the hardest working women I know.

This is the conversation I wish someone had with them before they started.

Who this is for

Three Kinds of Women Will be in this Room

You are on one

The shot is working. But nobody gave you a plan for the eating, the protein, or what happens when it wears off.

You are considering one

You want a real answer before you walk into that appointment. Not a sales pitch and not a scolding.

Someone close to you is on one

Your husband, your sister, your friend. Dinner looks different now and so does everything else. Nobody talks about this part.

What we cover

Three things, in 90 minutes

  1. Your Hunger

What everyone else thinks, and what you believe about yourself. Jealousy, judgment, secrecy, whether this counts as cheating, and where faith fits. Plus what food noise actually is, and what it means when it goes quiet.

  2. Your Habits

What the medication does and what it cannot do. Muscle loss, and how a woman can lose 20 pounds and end up with the same body fat percentage she started with. Protein. Eating when nothing sounds good. Plateaus and titration. What happens when you stop.

  3. Your Heart

The hunger the shot does not touch. The medication quiets the physical hunger. It does not touch the other kind. This is where the lasting work happens.

Yes, joining costs less than the workshop. That is on purpose...because we all know weight loss doesn't happen in 90 minutes.

Who is teaching this

I've Been Living This for 20 Years

I'm Sara Borgstede. I lost 100 pounds, and I have maintained it for nearly two decades. I'm a certified weight loss and binge eating recovery coach.

The Holy Mess has been featured in Woman's World, First for Women, and Guideposts.

I was a binge eater for most of my life. I know what it's like to stand in the kitchen at 10:00 PM with an empty container in your hand and wrappers pushed under the trash so nobody sees.

I also lead a membership with 200+ women learning to navigate weight loss in a world that has been turned upside down with the introduction of GLP-1 medications. I hear what they are dealing with every week: The side effects nobody warned them about. The protein they cannot get in. The quiet fear about what happens if they stop. The shameful backhanded comments they hear.

They (and you) are the reason this workshop exists.

Questions

Before you decide

Do I have to be taking a GLP-1 to come?

No. A good portion of this room will be women who are considering one, and women whose spouse or sister is on one. All three are welcome.

Are you going to tell me not to take it?

No. I am not against these medications. I have members on them. My goal is that you go in with your eyes open, whatever you decide.

Are you giving medical advice?

No. I am not a doctor, a dietitian, or a prescriber. This is education and lived experience from someone who has coached thousands of women through weight loss.

What if I cannot make it live?

Come anyway if you can, because the Q&A is the best part. If you cannot, the recording and the workbook are yours either way.

Do I have to be on camera?

No. You can participate with your camera turned off. You can also participate anonymously.

Is this a faith-based workshop?

Yes. The Holy Mess is written for Christian women and this workshop is no different. You will not get a sermon, but you will get an honest look at where faith fits in this decision.

What if I join The Holy Weigh instead?

Then the workshop is included and you get the whole membership with it. That is the better deal, it boosts your weight loss for the long haul, and that's why we made it the cheaper option. There are no tricks or gimmicks (you can cancel at any time), but we want to keep supporting you because weight loss doesn't happen from one Zoom session. Lasting weight loss comes from what you do day after day, week after week, and that's what The Holy Weigh is all about.

A necessary note. This workshop is educational. Sara Borgstede is not a physician, dietitian, or licensed medical provider, and nothing presented is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Decisions about starting, continuing, adjusting, or stopping any medication belong between you and your healthcare provider. Always consult your own doctor before making changes to your medication, diet, or exercise routine.

You can keep piecing this together from Facebook groups and whatever your cousin's coworker said.

Or you can spend the morning with someone who will teach you what's actually true.
